Concrete is a typical hydrophilic porous material. In the past, it was believed that cement concrete becomes a relatively dense material after hardening, which can prevent the intrusion of moisture, but this is only a short-term effect. The pore structure of hardened cement slurry has a wide distribution of pore sizes, ranging from nanoscale C-S-H interlayer pores and gel pores to capillary pores of several hundred nanometers, with a total porosity of up to 30-40%. In fact, under the requirements of concrete structure design for 50 or even 100 years of use, traditional concrete is not dense and highly permeable to water. In seawater immersion, underground sulfate environment or atmospheric carbonization environment, corrosive media can still slowly invade the interior of concrete, changing the internal composition and structure of concrete through various physical and chemical processes, causing deterioration of concrete performance and corrosion of steel bars. Therefore, the intrusion of moisture in concrete is the most important factor causing the durability deterioration of concrete.

This product is a hydrophobic organic water-based emulsion. After being mixed into concrete, it is chemically bonded to the surface of the cement hydration product during the cement hydration process, causing the concrete capillary wall to transform from a hydrophilic surface to a hydrophobic surface. Achieve a hydrophobic effect on the surface and cross-section of concrete, significantly reducing the capillary water absorption of concrete materials, thereby effectively preventing corrosive media such as chloride ions from entering the interior of the concrete, slowing down the corrosion of steel bars and significantly improving the durability of concrete. It has very outstanding technical advantages in marine structures, saline-alkali corrosion environments, and concrete projects in freeze-thaw environments. It can also be used in concrete rigid waterproof structural systems.
